I'm pleased to announce our permanent domain name: www.thatonenation.com! With our new TLD, we look much more professional (not that we didn't before ). Our old domain, www.thatonenation.co.cc redirects to this domain, so please update your bookmarks!
You may be wondering why we didn't keep our .NET domain that we had a while back...well, that was only with the Byet Premium hosting account, and I couldn't have it moved to stay with our new host (which is much more cheaper and gives us more space and bandwidth). The .NET domain came free with the Byet hosting, so if I had it moved, the premium account would have no where to run.
However, I managed to find a "1-year-free" domain deal, and so next year, I should hopefully be able to pay for the renewal so we can keep the domain - no worries though.
I am happy to announce the return of Google Apps! After getting the new host configured, I just finished re-setting up the apps for users.
Here is the current application list:
-Start Page: A handy Google-customizable start page combined with my awesome graphic skills! You can add your own gadgets from the gadgets page, or remove ones you dislike. (URL: www.start.thatonenation.com) -Gmail: Get your own free yourusername@thatonenation.com email addresss! This comes with all the great features of Gmail, plus the @thatonenation.com part :) (URL: www.mail.thatonenation.com/) -Calendar: A handy application - create events, manage tasks, and view upcoming things all from this calendar. (URL: www.calendar.thatonenation.com/) -Docs: Probably the most useful of the Google Applications. This is a great tool if you don't have Microsoft Office: create documents, spreadsheets, graphs and more, and then print/upload them for school or work...for free. (URL: www.docs.thatonenation.com/) -Sites: Create your own free website with this nifty application. This is great if you are new to HTML, and want a clean, nice look to your site. Google does all the hard work...you just add the content :) (URL: www.sites.thatonenation.com/)
All of the applications except the start page require an email account! Please send a PM to blh654 requesting one, and then I will set up one for you and get back to you usually within 24-48 hours (if I'm out of town, I won't get back to you until I'm back)
-An issue that when the user tried to upload a file in the downloads section, a MySQL error was displayed. -An issue that when the user tried to upload a file in the image gallery section, a CHMOD permission error was displayed.
I've also been working on getting back our 100 MB uploads with the Vexxhost support team. The default upload size for files was 8 MB, which we wouldn't be able to upload anything with. Since they didn't allow php_value terms in their .htaccess files, I had to create a php.ini file with the correct values. However, since php.ini files don't carry over into subdirectories, I had to make the .htaccess file make the php.ini file carry over into the subdirectories. With that out of the way, we now have 100 MB uploads again.
First off, sorry for the past three weeks of downtimes and slow speeds. This was due to old host, L4rge free hosting.
I have moved hosts, to premium hosting (on a shared server) The speeds are the same as we enjoyed on our .NET hosting, and even faster in my browser. We have basically unlimited space and bandwidth - just setting up the final touches with the maximum uploads allowed - that kind of stuff.
Our domain, www.thatonenation.com is back up, with a 99.9% uptime guarantee and hopefully will stay up for a long time to come.
If you find any bugs or glitches with the new host, please contact me right away - so I can fix it for you :)
